Konjac to Accelerate Agriculture

Konjac has been known for over decades. Back in 1975, Konjac was introduced as a profitable crop to the Asian community. Due to the decreasing supply over time while the market demand was relatively high, the government has pushed the agriculture sector to put more attention and effort towards Konjac plantation.

As its plantations in Java have increased, so does Sumatra and Sulawesi. The increase is hand in hand with the current increasing demand of Konjac, especially to the international market. Hence, this is why we develop Konjac as the market within the agricultural commodity export is quite promising.

For the past year, we have been researching and developing best practices of the factory and its processes with local experts as well as the local agricultural community. This is to mitigate some of the problems that have been experienced by farmers in cultivating Konjac such as growing conditions, harvesting period, productivity level and product quality. Through counseling and direct practice we hope these problems experienced by farmers would not occur or lessen.
